Meet the Founder: Why I Built The Daily Grindhouse

Matthew Pacharis - Founder of The Daily Grindhouse

Every business starts with a problem. Mine started with a bad cup of coffee.

I'm Matthew Pacharis, founder of The Daily Grindhouse — and if you've ever opened a bag of grocery store coffee, brewed a K-Cup, and thought "these tastes burnt," you already understand exactly why I built this.

A Lifelong Passion for Coffee

Coffee has been part of my life for as long as I can remember. Not just as a morning habit — as something I genuinely cared about. The ritual of it. The craft behind it. The way a truly great cup of coffee can stop you in your tracks.

That passion never went away. If anything, it grew. Today, my morning routine starts with filling the hopper of my Ninja Lux Café with freshly sourced whole beans, selecting my brew — espresso, drip, or cold brew — and letting the machine dial in the grind. From there it's hands-on: pulling the portafilter, locking it into the group head, and while the shot pulls, frothing milk to the right temperature and texture.

It's a process. It takes attention. And it produces a cup that's completely different from anything you'll find in a pod or a pre-ground can.

That difference is what The Daily Grindhouse is built around.

The Problem I Couldn't Ignore

For years, I bought coffee the way most people do — from grocery stores, in K-Cups, in pre-ground bags. And for years, I kept running into the same problem: it tasted burnt. Flat. Stale. Like it had been sitting around for months, because it had.

K-Cups are convenient, but convenience comes at a cost. The coffee inside is pre-ground, sealed in plastic, and often roasted long before it reaches you. By the time you brew it, the flavor is a shadow of what fresh coffee actually tastes like.

I got tired of it. I got tired of paying for coffee that disappointed me. And I started asking a simple question: why can't people just get fresh, properly roasted coffee delivered to their door?

Why I Started The Daily Grindhouse

The answer to that question became The Daily Grindhouse.

I built this brand on a simple belief: people deserve better coffee than what's on store shelves. Not just specialty coffee drinkers. Not just people with expensive equipment. Everyone who drinks coffee deserves to know what it actually tastes like when it's roasted fresh, handled with care, and brewed properly.

That's why every order at The Daily Grindhouse triggers a roast. We don't pre-roast and stockpile. We roast when you order, pack it fresh, and ship it so it arrives at peak flavor — not weeks past it.

It's the way coffee should work. It's just that most brands don't bother.

What Drives Me Every Day

Running The Daily Grindhouse isn't just a business — it's an extension of something I've cared about my whole life. Every origin story we source, every roast profile we develop, every bag that ships is a reflection of that original frustration with mediocre coffee and a genuine belief that we can do better.

If you've ever tasted the difference between fresh-roasted and stale coffee, you know why this matters. If you haven't yet — that's exactly what we're here for.

Welcome to The Daily Grindhouse. I'm glad you're here.
